All the hotels in your packages are coming under 3 star category. Then why package costs are different ?
This was the question that one of my client asked when he receive Kerala tour package from our end which was having three options. i.e 3 star super deluxe and premium.
While providing the package cost, we used to give direct website link of hotels which are being included in the list. Our client gone through these websites and noticed that tariff is almost similar for all the hotels. So he raised that question. Then we thought to clarify the matter for all of our readers as well
For Example we are giving short details our top selling package details as follows
Cochin to Cochin Package (04 nights / 05 days)
Places: Munnar / Thekkady / Alleppey/Cochin
No. of Pax – 01 Couple
No. of Rooms – 01 Room
Package Validity – From 16th January 2015 Onwards
Meals Included – 04 Times Breakfast + 01 Time Lunch + 01 Time Dinner ( Breakfast in Hotels and All Meals in Houseboat )
Transportation – A/c INDICA
Option I - 3 Star Premium Package
Hotel Names :-
Munnar - 02 Nights – CLOUDS VALLEY LEISURE HOTEL - Deluxe Room
Thekkady 01 Night – SILVER CREST- Non A/c Deluxe Room
Alleppey - 01 Night – A/C DELUXE HOUSE BOAT
Option II - 3 Star Super Deluxe Package
Hotel Names :-
Munnar - 02 Nights – SPICE COUNTRY RESORT - Premium Valley View Room
Thekkady - 01 Night – GRAND THEKKADY - Non A/c Deluxe Room
Alleppey - 01 Night – A/C DELUXE HOUSE BOAT
Ok.. now you have seen the package details. We have given two options and in each category hotels used are 03 star. As said earlier, if you go through the tariff of hotels, you will find similarity. But when we provide package, rates for each category will be different. Then why ?
For getting answer for this question we have to go deep into the context
*Categories of Hotels
Even though the hotels listed above are 3 star category, we have put them in three different options. The reason is simple; You will not get the same felling of Premium Package in Super Deluxe or Deluxe Package. Over all quality will be different. Just we can say the difference in seeing a film in normal theaters and multiplex theaters. Both place we will be able to watch the movie. But quality will be different
*Price Factor
We understand that tariff for all the category hotels are same. Tariff means the published rates. Being a regular promoter, a tour operator will be getting special rates which will be less than tariff. This is the point where we finding out the answer for rate difference. Premium category hotels will not be giving that much discounts to a tour operator when compared to super deluxe hotels. So obviously overall costing will be different
*Choose Your Package
While choosing the package, look at the hotels first and then compare the price. Don’t compare the package just seeing the name. Always go through thoroughly into the given hotels. Use review sites to know more about the given hotels. Tripadvisor is one of the best option for doing the same. If your tour operator not provided package under your budget, inform them to customize so that they can give you revised details which suite to your pocket.
